Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade  is a graphic adventure based on the film. It was the third game to use the SCUMM engine and the first to include the verbs 'Look' and 'Talk'. "Not as good graphics as The Fate of Atlantis, and much shorter overall, but still a great game. There's a lot of humor to find, both in dialogue and the cute little messages that appear when you die or get captured. Also, from about the middle of the game onwards, you'll often get to choose how to overcome...

II in a Mac was the first Apple II emulator. The emulator ran on a 512K Mac and was released in November 1985. Initially it could run Apple II+ programs, but later evolved to include IIc and IIe software. This was long before the appearance of the 1991 Apple IIe Card for the Mac LC. The emulator was created by Computer Applications, Inc., based in Raleigh, North Carolina. The company still seems to exist. "Battle Chess is a quite typical chess game, but it comes with a twist: all pieces are represented by small, realistic figures that walk around on the chessboard, and when one piece takes another, they both take part in an animated battle. There is a different animation for each permutation, depending on which pieces are capturing or being captured. You can also play in 2D without animation. The game's opening library includes 30,000 different moves, ensuring a variety of games will unfold...

This Internet Archive emulated Macintosh item is a recreation of Radiohead's song "Fitter Happier" from their seminal 1997 album "OK Computer". But why? Well, Radiohead created the "vocals" for this song on a Mac! A Macintosh LCII, to be precise, using the Apple software MacinTalk 3. Sadly, we cannot emulate in-browser a Mac capable of running MacinTalk 3, so have to compromise a little and use MacinTalk 2. The big compromise is that the exact synthesised voice...

Pararena is an action computer game for the Apple Macintosh, originally released as shareware in 1990 by john calhoun . It is a mouse-controlled ball game where two players compete on hoverboards in a parabolic arena with two "goals" on the sides. The object is to score points by getting the ball into the other player's goal. Players tossed out of the arena will simply respawn after a few seconds, but fouls are issued for letting the ball go out of bounds. There are multiple game...

From game author Randy Carr's website (http://www.fatlion.com/nettrek/): NetTrek - Where'd it come from and where'd it go? Way back in 1982, before Warp-Drive, there was this secret new computer being developed at Apple Computer known as the ' Lisa '. The Lisa computer had a real bitmapped screen that was fairly large (i.e. lots of pixels!) and a real pointing device that resembled what Xerox had done in the late '70's, known as the 'mouse'. I was working at Apple Computer in those days, so I...

John Calhoun's classic Joust clone. Glypha The original. Runs in a 512x342 window in the center of the screen, in black-and-white. Amazingly, it still works in Mac OS X — it is truly a testament to the backwards compatibility of the Mac. It is also the most configurable of the Glypha family. The first couple of levels do not have the lava pits; they are opened when you enter level 3.

"Glider has a very simple concept, as many early Mac games did, but it was brilliantly executed and is still enjoyable to play today. I realised yesterday that I love the feel of old games like Glider because you can tell that they made the graphics on a computer not that dissimilar to the one you're playing it on! You can see all the familiar MacPaint patterns in the graphics - check out the 'brick' pattern wearing through the wall (with a bit of the spray-paint tool for good measure) in...

Sid Meier’s Pirates! is a video game created by Sid Meier and developed and published by MicroProse in 1987. It was the first game to include the name "Sid Meier" in its title as an effort by MicroProse to attract fans of Meier's earlier games, most of which were combat vehicle simulation video games . The game is a simulation of the life of a pirate , a privateer , or a pirate hunter in the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. Pirates! is set in the Caribbean . The Pirates! playing field...

A wacky interactive cartoon where you play Sean, a character that seems to continuously find himself in bad situations. Funny stuff. New version includes a way to save the game to a file, a menubar, and other minor bug fixes. Now runs on Hypercard Player. From a forum post: "This is a MacOS 9 emulator (for OSX - so I guess I'm mostly looking at Riff and Hotstuff). It has a few hoops to jump through to get it working. Drag the 'hypercard.sheepvm' onto 'Sheepshaver' to launch Hypercard in...
